Statement of Faith
1. The Holy Scriptures
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and conduct. We affirm that the Scriptures, consisting of 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, are completely true, without error, and sufficient for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
2. The Nature of God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal, possessing the same attributes and perfections. God is sovereign, holy, just, omnipotent, omniscient, and loving. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
3. Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, substitutionary death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. Jesus is fully God and fully man, the only mediator between God and humanity, and the only way of salvation (John 1:1, 14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Timothy 2:5).
4. The Holy Spirit
We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates, indwells, and seals all believers in Christ. The Holy Spirit provides believers with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. We believe that the gifts of the Spirit are given to all believers for the edification of the Church and the advancement of the Gospel (John 16:7-13; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7; Ephesians 1:13-14).
5. The Nature of Humanity
We believe that all people are created in the image of God, but through Adam’s sin, humanity has inherited a sinful nature and is therefore separated from God. All are in need of salvation, which can only be obtained through faith in Jesus Christ. Every individual is responsible for their response to God’s revelation and is destined for eternal life or eternal separation from God (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12-19).
6. Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Salvation is a gift of God and cannot be earned through good works or human effort. Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection provide the only basis for forgiveness of sin and eternal life. Those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are born again and receive the gift of eternal life (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5).
7. The Church
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, consisting of all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The Church exists to worship God, to build up believers, and to fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples of all nations. We affirm the importance of local churches, which are autonomous, self-governing bodies under the headship of Christ. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances of the Church, symbolizing the believer’s identification with Christ (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-47; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
8. The Ordinances
We believe in the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is an act of obedience, symbolizing the believer’s faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, and is performed by immersion as an outward expression of inward faith. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s sacrifice and should be observed by all believers until He returns, symbolizing His body and blood given for our redemption (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
9. The Christian Life
We believe that Christians are called to live holy and righteous lives in obedience to the Word of God. This includes personal spiritual growth, faithful stewardship, service to others, and the demonstration of Christ’s love in all aspects of life. We are called to be witnesses of Christ, seeking to share the Gospel with all people. The Holy Spirit empowers believers to live victoriously over sin and to pursue Christlikeness (Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 4:1-3; 1 Peter 1:15-16).
10. The Second Coming
We believe in the personal, visible, and imminent return of Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom. At His return, believers will be glorified, and Christ will judge all people. The righteous will inherit eternal life with God, and the wicked will face eternal separation from Him. This hope of Christ’s return motivates us to live godly lives and to spread the Gospel to all nations (Matthew 24:30-31; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15).
11. Eternity
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. Those who are saved will be resurrected to eternal life, while those who are lost will be resurrected to eternal condemnation. Heaven and Hell are real places, and all people will spend eternity in one of these two states based on their acceptance or rejection of Christ (John 5:28-29; 1 Corinthians 15:42-44; Revelation 20:12-15; Revelation 21:1-4).
Conclusion
We affirm these beliefs with full conviction and commit to living them out faithfully. As the Body of Christ, we pledge to uphold the truths of Scripture and to glorify God through our lives, service, and witness to the world.
